Weeny Meeny is a little witch who turned 1000 years old. Her little tribe does not consider her a toddler from now on, which makes her happy. She is granted to fly on her own, but one thing bothers her . The streets are littered with garbage and weeds. She cannot tolerate seeing the little witches walk through them full of obstacles. Before Halloween night, no matter what she does to sleep she cannot, for the worries of streets of Witchburg are on her mind.
Weeny Meeny with her friends, cat and crow, decide to cast a spell to make the streets tidy and neat. Sheep, lambs, and rams are created through her magic wand, and these creatures start grazing the grass and weeds. Do the streets finally become clean, and how does Weeny Meeny feel about it?
Opinion:
This book is thoughtful about how dirty streets affect people and above all about teaching youngsters the importance of clean surroundings. The illustrations adorn the book, and the readers are able to picture the story vividly through the images and the text. Through the protagonist, Weeny Meeny, there is a lot to learn such as good manners, team spirit, and starting with one's own street for cleanliness. Kids will love Weeny Meeny's Halloween, and if they understand the messages of the story, they will implement them in their own life, making their parents or guardians proud. The book is a good read and recommended for ages 5-8 who will benefit a lot.
