When Raina's parents have to leave home, Raina has to stay with her cousins she barely knows. Raina is an only child. When she finds out there are eight cousins, she is a bit worried about how she will adjust to life there. When Raina arrives at her cousins' house she is welcomed warmly by her aunt and her cousins. She goes to school every day with her cousins and participates in several after school activities such as basketball, volleyball and track, but will she be able to find her place in a new town?

Opinion:

If there could be a book that never ended, this is the one I would pick. I really liked Raina and her relationship with her cousins. Some of them were younger and some of the cousins were older. Since I am the oldest of six children, I liked that Raina was in the middle and could relate to the older and younger cousins. When Raina discovers she is good at track I was very excited for her and I was eager to see if she would win each of her races. The author did a great job of making me want to see what happened with Raina. This is a great book for students who like stories about family and finding a place to belong.
