LitPick Review
Bear, the main character in Every Critter Has a Tale, goes to her favorite place and finds Grandmother Bear. Bear sits down next to her grandmother, who tells Bear a story about many other animals in the world. While she is telling the story, Bear drifts off to sleep and has a wonderful dream. First Grandmother Bear teaches Bear about Salmon, an abundant fish. Bear thanks Salmon for the will to survive. Then Bear sees an Eagle, and Eagle invites Bear to travel with him. Once they finish flying together, Bear thanks Eagle for giving her a new view of the world. Bear goes through a journey with many animals and has new experiences throughout her adventure.
Opinion:
Every Critter Has a Tale is a great picture book. Some elements I admire are the book's illustrations as well as the adventures Bear takes. The illustrations are very unique and colorful—I have never seen anything like them. I like reading about Bear’s adventures because Bear learns so much about other animals and gets the opportunity to thank them.
The picture book is targeted to younger readers, who would enjoy the story, so I recommend Every Critter Has a Tale to children ages 2 to 10.
