A Fairy Happy Birthday is a precious story about a cute little fairy named Garnet who loves crafts, decorations, and celebrating her friends. When Garnet’s own birthday comes along, she discovers that her friends have forgotten about her special day. Once her friends remedy their mistake and throw Garnet a wonderful and joyous birthday party, Garnet thinks about all the children in the world the fairies bring joy to. She thinks about how these children may have uncelebrated birthdays, and she vows to never let that happen again. After learning her limits, Garnet elicits her friends’ help in coordinating every child’s birthday for all the months of the year! Join Garnet on her journey to discovering how her talents and passions can help all children around the world in a fun and crafty way!

A Fairy Happy Birthday is a five-star children’s book that is perfect for that creative youngster to curl up with before bedtime. The author does a fabulous job of incorporating positive character development into an exciting plot. Garnet the fairy learns what it is like to be forgotten on her birthday, and she realizes she does not want others to ever feel that way. Throughout the story, Garnet also learns her personal limits and when to not push herself so hard to help others, and she learns to ask for help. The plot also includes clever character creation in the Birthday Gem Fairies. Beyond the plot, the characters are diverse and represent all types of people that will make readers feel included in the story. Not only is the story well written, but the illustrator does a wonderful job of creating a fun and lighthearted world of fairies. There are so many colorful and vibrant creations throughout the book that couple well with the main character’s love for crafting and decorations. Overall, this book is perfect for young readers who want to learn more about themselves and escape into a world of fairies!
