The omniscient narrator is the perfect guide as the reader is often wishing the characters knew everything to avoid assumptions. At times, the events are predictable but in a satisfying manner. As a reader, you are hoping for the predictable moments. However, Mooney does inject ample surprises to keep you turning page after page. Charmingly written, Under the Christmas Moon, details the community charity, hard work, beauty, and love for family found in many small towns across America. There is an immense respect for the Armed Forces and the men and women who have bravely protected our nation.
