Ghosters
Top Choice

Filled with scares, mystery, and plenty of humor, Ghosters tells what happens to twelve-year-old Theresa Martinez and her autistic brother, Joey, when their mom suddenly dies and money problems force the family to move into a creepy old mansion.

Her dead grandmother's creepy old mansion.

Enter Theresa's new ghost-obsessed friend, Kerry. Eager to use her ghost-hunting technology, Kerry suggests they enter a reality TV show's video contest. "If we win, we both get what we want," she tells Theresa. "You earn money for your family. I record an actual ghost."

And why not try? The place is definitely haunted.

Hey, what could happen?

Ghosters does a great job of exploring issues with Autism while fully entertaining the reader with a terrific tale. I highly recommend this book for children ages 9 through 12. First in the series, it's a wonderful book with a shocking twist--a true ghost story!

Something dreadful? Something healing? But more urgently, more pressing: what will happen next?!

In Diana Corbitt’s Ghosters, Theresa Martinez is really going through it. Her mother just passed away, and her writer dad is having major writer’s block, so to save money, they find themselves in her grandparents’ old home. But why does everyone keep saying her house is haunted? Her father certainly doesn’t think so; she must be imagining things. He wants nothing to do with her quest for paranormal activity.

Theresa Martinez, the main character in Ghosters by Diana Corbitt, moves into her grandparents' old abandoned mansion after her mom dies, not expecting much. However, soon after, she, her father, and her younger brother, Joey, move in, Theresa starts noticing unusual things happening. Theresa thinks that ghosts are responsible, but her dad definitely does not believe in ghosts. Then, Theresa meets a girl at school, Kerry, whose aunt was the realtor for the mansion. Kerry also thinks the house is haunted and asks Theresa if she could come over to check the place out.
