Mia is a gifted teenager. But this is not any sort of typical talent, as she is able to communicate with the dead. Because of these powers, she is sent to a camp with others who are gifted just like her. Once there, she meets a boy named TC, and they become good friends. Together they do many things, including kiss and talk about their psychic abilities, which they refer to as their "sidekicks." They wish to stay together forever, but they have to continue on with their normal lives eventually.

Years later, Mia, now 18, runs into TC again. However, TC is very different and wants nothing to do with his “sidekicks” anymore. Mia does not want it to be this way, and with the urging from the ghost of TC’s father, she attempts to get through to him. How can she possibly change a person who wants nothing to do with her?

Opinion:

I really enjoyed reading this book and was entertained the whole way through. There were many aspects of this novel that were really well done. This includes the relationships, and I was excited to see how each character developed. I connected with Mia, despite our differences, as she is still very relatable. I enjoyed the pacing of the novel, which never felt rushed or too slow. The writing was also fantastic, so I never became bored. I recommend this novel for anyone looking for an amazing, quick read that is full of romance and suspense.
