This book is about a girl named Halen. Halen has dealt with significant difficulties in her life. When she was a child, she watched her father die. Her mother and stepfather have moved several times, she doesn’t get along well with her sister, Tage, and she has weird dreams of a strange boy. Halen thinks things can’t get any worse. Then she finds out they can. When her parents leave her and Tage home one night, an attacker comes. Tage decides they should go to the beach; she doesn't believe he will follow them there.
